The global variant of Xiaomi Mi Band 4C is now official. This is essentially a more affordable alternative to the Mi Band 5. It’s a rebranded Redmi Band, in case it looks familiar to you.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C is basically a global variant of the Redmi Band. This fitness tracker has quite a few features up its sleeve, and it does have a lot to offer for the price.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C comes with 5ATM water resistance, heart rate sensor, and more
This fitness tracker includes a heart rate sensor, activity tracker, sleep monitor, sedentary reminder, and more. It is also 5ATM water resistant, in other words, you can take it diving up to 50m under the surface.
The device is made out of plastic, and it comes with a silicone band. It has a squarish shape, and a color display on the front. Speaking of which, that is a 1.08-inch (220 x 128) LCD color display.
That display is touch sensitive, by the way, and it gets up to 200 nits in terms of brightness. It is protected by 2D tempered glass, so it should be fine if you drop the device or something of the sort.
Bluetooth 5.0 LE is also a part of the package here. This fitness band is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. It can monitor your heart rate 24/7, and send you alerts as well.
There are 5 sports modes included here: outdoor running, exercise, cycling, treadmill, and fast walking. The device also comes with a tri-axis accelerometer.
It should provide you about 14 days of regular use
A 130mAh battery is included in the package, and it is said to be able to offer 14 days of regular use. The device is also quite light at 13 grams (device only).
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C does not come with some advanced features as the Mi Band 5. That is true, but it’s also half the price of the Mi Band 5, so we can’t really complain.
The Mi Band 4C has been announced in black color only, but it comes with straps in all different colors. Straps are available in Black, Orange, Green, and Blue color options.
This device has been announced in Taiwan, and is priced at NT$495 ($16.7). It is already on sale in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and it is expected to launch in more countries soon.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C just became one of the most affordable fitness trackers out there, at least as far as mainstream brands are concerned. It will be interesting to see in how many countries will it become available.
Xiaomi probably doesn’t want it to compete directly with the Mi Band 5, so it may be more careful when it comes to market placement.
