YouTube Kids App To Release 100 New Movies Starting Today

Google has made several new announcements since the coronavirus outbreak in early March. Today, the company mentioned that it will be releasing 100 full-length movies on the YouTube Kids app. The new releases will begin today and will span until August 31.

The pandemic has resulted in many people, around the world, working from home. It’s more difficult for parents who have to manage their time between work and their kids. As per Google, the new content will help in entertaining the kids.

YouTube Kids app to get 100 new movies

If you don’t know, the YouTube Kids app includes human-curated kids content and strict parental controls. This new content will appear in the “Shows” category inside the YouTube Kids app as single videos or playlists. New content is said to be released every Monday for the next five weeks.

The new movie collection includes Tayo the Little Bus, Baby Shark and Pinkfong, The Wiggles, Masha And The Bear, Oggy & the Cockroaches, and Paddington. Furthermore, the kids can also watch the Oscar-winning short film Hair Love alongside the educational specials like Sesame Street’s Elmo’s World News and BBC Studio’s Hey Duggee.

The app will also premiere an exclusive movie

Additionally, the YouTube Kids app will also premiere an exclusive movie produced by Wildbrain in collaboration with South Korean studio Keyring Studios called Spookiz. All the kids aged six and up can also enjoy the special YouTube Original content including Disney’s Shook and two Simon’s Cat.

Moreover, new content will be added to the YouTube Originals for Kids & Family Channel and YouTube Kids. The list includes SHERWOOD, Kings of Atlantis, Fruit Ninja Frenzy Force, and Lockdown. All this new content should surely keep the kids occupied during the working hours.

With the age restrictions in place, not all these new movies will appear on the YouTube Kids app. Make sure to select the appropriate age to get the best selection of content. Recently, Google also made its YouTube Kids app available on Amazon Fire TV.

Just last month, Google also announced the Camp YouTube to help the parents in recreating the fun of summer camp at home. Apart from the new YouTube Kids content, Google also made several announcements like Google Meet to help its users overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company recently increased the limit of group video calls on Google Duo from 12 to 32 participants. It also made several changes to Search and YouTube results in order to tackle the fake information related to the coronavirus.
