You might not look at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 from Samsung and think that camera features are a focal point.
On the contrary though, Samsung has put more effort into making the Galaxy Z Fold 2 offer some cool camera features than you might think. That doesn’t necessarily mean the phone will have the best camera in the business.
But with the features on offer, it’ll be interesting to say the least. And enough that anyone who considers buying a Galaxy Z Fold 2 should certainly consider using the camera as often as possible.
One of the best camera features on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is auto-framing
Not everyone is a photographer. And because of that it’s not always easy to get the best shots.
However, smartphones are made to be smart and that extends to cameras. Samsung has done a great job at adding in some really smart features to its devices. Case in point when it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 – auto-framing.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a cool auto-framing feature that attempts to get everyone in frame as much as possible. The feature uses machine learning, so it’s powered by artificial intelligence and neural networking. Making it much smarter than your average camera feature.
Also, if you keep the phone in Flex Mode, the auto-framing can zoom in and zoom back out again and keep people in frame the whole time. At least that’s the goal. How it performs in practice is another story but Samsung has focused on it quite a bit. So it should work pretty well.
Use Dual Preview to make sure you look your best
One important factor of taking pictures, whether with your phone or an actual camera, is being able to see what it looks like before you push the shutter button.
This is easy enough for most phones. Because the display is facing you when you’re using both the front and rear cameras. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a little different though since the screen is more or less covered up when it’s folded closed.
Not to worry though. Samsung included a feature called Dual Preview that lets you see the picture on the front screen when the phone is in its closed state. And it works great for both selfies and regular photos.
One thing to note is that this particular feature is better for selfies. Because when the phone is closed the selfies are actually using the rear sensor. Which means Dual Preview is going to help you up your selfie game with better quality images.
Samsung also ported over all of the neat camera features from the Galaxy Note 20 series devices. If you like using your phone for photos, then this should provide some neat tricks to impress your friends and family.
