Here's The First Look At ZTE Axon 20 5G With Under-Display Camera

ZTE has already confirmed to launch the world’s first 5G smartphone featuring an under-display camera. The latest render posted by Ni Fei, ZTE’s president of mobile devices, on his Weibo account gives us the first look of the Axon 20 5G ahead of its official launch on September 1.

Like the smartphones with pop-up cameras, the Axon 20 5G also comes with a completely notch-less display. Instead of having moving parts, the technological advancements have helped the company to place the front camera behind the display.

ZTE gives us a glimpse at its under-display camera smartphone

While a few brands including OPPO and Xiaomi have showcased prototypes with similar technology, ZTE is the first brand to bring it to consumers. The area on the screen around the camera module goes transparent while capturing photos or recording videos using the under-display camera.

The performance of the under-display camera can be only know once the smartphone hits the consumer market. There might still be some loss in quality when compared to standrad camera sensors.

Apart from the bottom bezel, the company seems to have reduced the bezels on all the other three sides to offer maximum screen-to-body ratio. Unlike other high-end smartphones, it’s nice to see ZTE is sticking with a flat-screen panel. The large camera module on the rear features a quad camera setup and an LED flash.
