A well-known analyst, Ross Young, shared a ton of information about the upcoming Huawei Mate X2. He not only shared its specifications, but also shared a concept of the device which is similar to the current prototype, and probably the final product.

The Huawei Mate X2 design and specs information shared by analyst

Let’s start with the specs, shall we. Mr. Young shared this information via his official Twitter account. Do note that the tweet has been deleted since, though, for some reason.

The source believes that the Huawei Mate X2 will be fueled by the Kirin 1000. That is the company’s upcoming high-end processor, and possibly the last Kirin chip we’ll see. Huawei will halt the production of Kirin chips due to the US ban.

In any case, the source also says that the device will include 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in its base model. 12GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage, and 12GB RAM model with 512GB of storage are also planned.

Do note that you will not be able to expand the storage of either of these models. 5G support will be included in the package, as will a large battery. A 6,000mAh unit is expected.

The device will also support fast charging. The Huawei Mate X2 is expected to support 65W wired charging, though the source did not say anything about wireless charging.

Android 11 will come pre-installed, it seems, along with EMUI 11. The ‘Laptop Mode’ will be supported by the device, which means you’ll be able to use half of the display as a keyboard, and the other half as a monitor.

Interestingly enough, a stylus will also be included in the package. He even shared some information about the camera setup on the Huawei Mate X2.

It will include a total of six cameras, it seems

The device will, allegedly, sport a 40-megapixel main camera on the back, backed by a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 12-megapixel telephoto unit will also be supported, and it will offer a 3x optical zoom. The last camera on the back will be a 5-megapixel unit.

Two selfie cameras will also be a part of the package, it seems. Huawei plans to utilize 16 and 32-megapixel front-facing cameras on the device. The company will source displays from Samsung, it seems, not BOE.

The Huawei Mate X2’s main display will measure 8.03 inches, it seems. The secondary display will measure 4.5 inches. Yes, the Huawei Mate X2 will include two displays, as it will fold inwards, like the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

In order to give us an idea of the phone’s design, Ross Young shared a concept design from earlier this year. He says that the real product will look similar to it, and you can see that design below.
