Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Excels In A Series Of Durability Tests

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has managed to excel in a series of durability tests. The phone has been tested by Zack over at JerryRigEverything YouTube channel.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra passes these durability tests with flying colors

This video has a duration of almost 10 minutes, which is considerably more than other durability tests on the channel. Why? Well, Zack also talks about the Gorilla Glass Victus, a new Gorilla Glass protection on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

This glass, as you’ll find out in the video, scratches at the same level as the previous iteration from the company, Gorilla Glass 6. Corning does claim this is 4 times stronger than glass, and that is accurate.

The source explains what is ‘Gorilla Glass Victus’

The company is comparing it to regular glass, not Gorilla Glass 6, though. Do watch the video if you’d like to know more, Zack actually goes into great detail explaining this. He also explains how the S Pen works as well.

So the Gorilla Glass Victus, which protects the display on this phone, scratches at a level 6. Deeper grooves can be seen at a level 7. That is the same result as you’d get with Gorilla Glass 6.

This video also proves that the phone is made out of aluminum, and the same goes for its physical buttons. Interestingly enough, those buttons are completely removable, the same as on its predecessor.

The phone’s rear-facing cameras are protected by Gorilla Glass as well, we’re guessing Victus as well. When exposed to a lighter flame, the display’s pixels shut down after 23 seconds. Those pixels did not recover, by the way.

Scratching the display did not affect the usage of its in-display fingerprint scanner, by the way. Samsung is still using the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner here.

The bend test could not harm the device

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra build did excel in the bend test as well. The phone did not bend, nothing squeaked during the bend test, or anything of the sort.

All things considered, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra did great in this durability test. That was to be expected, though, as this is a $1,300 smartphone after all, so you’d expect it to be durable.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is currently Samsung’s most powerful smartphone. It launched alongside the Galaxy Note 20 and a number of other products earlier this month.

It would be interesting to see a durability test of the Galaxy Note 20. That handset comes with a plastic back, so… it would be interesting. Let’s hope the source will take a look at it soon.
