Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Buds Live alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series during the Galaxy Unpacked event. The company has now rolled out a minor software update for the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds+.
The changelog only mentions about the improved system stability and reliability. Looks like there will be no new features coming with this update. As usual, there might be little improvement to the sound output and Bluetooth stability.
Samsung rolls out a minor update to Galaxy Buds+ & Galaxy Buds Live
For the Galaxy Buds Live, the latest update with the firmware version R180XXU0ATH2 comes in 2.18MB size. Whereas, the update for the Galaxy Buds+ comes with the firmware version R175XXU0ATH7 and is just 1.38MB in size.
The Galaxy Buds+ are already one of the nicest-sounding true wireless earbuds available in the market. Moreover, these are compact in size and yet still boast good battery life. With the Galaxy Buds Live, the company made them even smaller and also added active noise canceling.
Considering these are open-type true wireless earbuds, the active noise canceling on the Galaxy Buds Live is not comparable with that of headphones. The earbuds can be updated through the Galaxy Wearable app, which is also used to paring and customizing.
No mention of new features coming with this update
First off, connect the Galaxy Buds+ or the Galaxy Buds Live to your smartphone. Now, open the Galaxy Wearable app and go to “Earbuds software update” at the bottom and tap on the “Download and install” button.
If there is a new update, tap on download to successfully download and install the latest update. Since it takes a few days to reach all the devices globally, there might be a delay for some users. The Galaxy earbuds can also be updated through a Mac or Windows laptop.
For the Galaxy Buds+, the last update released in June also came with the same changelog mentioning improved system stability and reliability. However, it included the optimizations to improve sound quality when using the Ambient sound mode. The users can also choose between the three levels of Ambient mode within the app — low, medium, and high.
In the US, the Galaxy Buds+ are currently retailing for $129.99 and comes in White, Red, Cosmic Black, Cloud Blue, and Aura Blue color options. The new Galaxy Buds Live priced at $169.99 will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black, and Mystic White colors.
