HP has now taken the wraps off of its most powerful AMD Chromebook to date, the HP Pro c645 Chromebook. Of course, this is an Enterprise-ready Chromebook. But, while the timeline isn’t immediately clear, HP will make this Chromebook available to the general consumer with a non-enterprise variant. So it’s going to be a serious contender among the best Chromebooks in the segment.
Not only is the latest HP Chromebook powered by up to an AMD Ryzen C-Series processor. That’s with Radeon integrated graphics, to boot. And it’s also backed by up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage. All of that makes it among the most powerful Chromebooks overall.
HP claims it will also last up to ten-and-a-half hours on a single charge. That it will only take around an hour-and-a-half to hit 90-percent charged. Additionally, security and privacy are top concerns with this clamshell laptop. Including an HP Privacy Camera with a physical shutter and a Google Titan C chip.
HP Pro c645 Chromebook Enterprise is as future-forward as it gets
The Enterprise-ready HP Pro c645 Chromebook is also extremely forward-thinking when it comes to other components and features.
Just for starters, HP includes an optional backlit keyboard and that keyboard is spill-resistant. The ruggedization continues with the claim that this Chromebook will, despite its familiar modern design, withstand MIL-STD 810H standard testing.
From there, HP also includes support for Wi-Fi 6 with speeds up to three times faster than Wi-Fi 5, where the network supports the new protocol. That brings up to four times the capacity too. Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI, and an optional fingerprint scanner round out the package.
The speakers, conversely, are packed in on either side of the keyboard.

Pricing and availability
Now, pricing and availability information for the HP Pro c645 Chromebook isn’t quite ready yet. This will undoubtedly not be among the most ‘affordable’ Chrome laptops on the market. Or at least not at its most powerful iterations, with consideration for the chipsets, RAM, and other features. Although the use of AMD chips could make it a better value than some Intel-based offerings.
HP says that availability details should be ready by early December. Pricing details will be made available around the same time.
