Jabra has just taken the wraps off of its newest pair of truly wireless earbuds, the Elite 85t.
As expected, these are the successor to the very popular Elite 75t that were announced last year – those are also getting an upgrade. The Elite 75t will be getting an OTA that brings Active Noise Cancellation. A free update that makes an existing pair of earbuds even better, is definitely a good thing.
The Elite 85t sport a compact design, with oval silicon EarGels. Which is going to give you a more secure and comfortable fit in your ears. This also helps with the newest feature of the Elite 85t this year, which is active noise cancellation.
Jabra Elite 85t sport a dedicated ANC chip
The Jabra Elite 85t sport a dedicated ANC chip, which is going to allow for better efficiency in removing background noise. So you can really immerse yourself in your music. It also has a four-microphone setup for ANC, which uses mics on the inside and outside of the earbuds.
It also sports six microphones for drowning out the wind around you, when you are making phone calls. This is going to allow for better sound when you are on the phone, using the Elite 85t.
Jabra has also outfitted the Elite 85t earbuds with 12mm speakers, which is going to provide some big sound and powerful bass. Which is exactly what we expect from Jabra earbuds these days.
Speaking of audio quality, Jabra has also incorporated a semi-open design with natural hear through on the Elite 85t.
These are also IPX4-rated for durability and come with a two-year warranty. This means that you can take them to the gym, and not worry about sweating too much.
Finally, the battery life here is pretty decent, particularly for ANC truly wireless earbuds. These feature five and a half hours of continuous playback. With the included carrying case, you can get up to 25 hours with ANC on. Turn that off, and the numbers jump to seven and 31 hours. New this year, is the case is also compatible with wireless charging. There’s also a USB-C port if you don’t want to use wireless charging on these earbuds. Which will also be faster, of course.
