Microsoft has released a new promo video for the Surface Duo, and in it, it highlights the phone’s main features. This video has been published on YouTube, and it’s embedded down below.
Microsoft shows Surface Duo features in a new promo video
The video itself has a duration of two minutes, and Microsoft managed to cram in a lot of content in it. The company boasts about how thin the Surface Duo is, while it also says that it’s quite light.
That is accurate. The company says that the Surface Duo is the thinnest ‘Surface’ ever, which is not hard to believe, as this is the company’s first ‘Surface’ smartphone.
When open, the phone is only 4.8mm thick, while it weighs less than 255 grams. That is not bad at all considering that there are essentially two phones here. Some regular phones weight this much.
In the video, you’ll also get to see what hides inside the retail box of the device. Microsoft even includes some protection here (in form of a bumper), which is made out of silicone, if I’m not mistaken.
The company also talks briefly about the phone’s displays, PixelSense displays, and about the hinge. That hinge actually enables the phone to fold all the way around.
Microsoft also makes sure you know that this thing runs Android. It also says that the phone can run basically any application in the Google Play Store, on either of its displays.
This device is all about multitasking
This smartphone is all about multitasking, and Microsoft is not trying to hide that fact, quite the contrary. The Microsoft Surface Duo may not have a foldable display, but it sure is nice to have when you need to run two apps side-by-side.
The company also shows you how you can use this phone. The company says that the device has “multiple modes”, and it essentially shows you how you can use / hold it.
The device even allows you to pair two apps in a single group. So, when you tap that pairing, it will launch both apps at the same time, one on each of the displays on the device.
If you have a Surface Pen, you can take notes on the Microsoft Surface Duo. That functionality is also shown in this promo video. As are various other software features that this device offers.
It is hard to deny that the Microsoft Surface Duo is one of the most interesting Android smartphones for multitasking at the moment. That is what Microsoft is aiming for.
The device sure isn’t cheap, and it doesn’t exactly strive in every single way, but it will surely appeal to some people.
