Motorola Razr 5G Launching On October 2 At A Discounted Price

Earlier this month, Motorola unveiled the Razr 5G foldable flip phone with improved aesthetics and specifications. Today, the company revealed the device is set to go on sale starting October 2 at a discounted price of $1,200. For the unlocked Motorola Razr 5G, it’s a $200 discount over the previously announced price of $1,400.

That being said, the $200 discount is applicable only for a limited time. After that, it will retail for $1,400 until it gets a permanent price cut. The unlocked Motorola Razr 5G will be available through Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, and Motorola’s official website.

It will also be available through AT&T and T-Mobile. On T-Mobile, customers can grab the Motorola Razr 5G at half the price by adding a new line and trade-in an eligible device. There will be a $400 discount on just adding a new line. AT&T will be exclusively selling the Motorola Razr 5G in Liquid Mercury color.

Existing AT&T customers can get up to a $400 discount by adding a new line or up to $300 off by upgrading their device. Others will receive a discount of up to $700 off on the Motorola Razr 5G by joining AT&T. The Motorola Razr 5G will also be available in Polished Graphite and Blush Gold color options.

The device comes with a 6.2-inch flexible OLED display with a tall 21:9 aspect ratio. There is also an additional 2.7-inch OLED Quick View display. Under the hood, it now comes powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 mobile platform coupled with the Kryo 475 CPU and the Adreno 620 GPU.

It packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs on Android 10 out of the box. Motorola also made several enhancements on the software side for the outer Quick View display. The Razr 5G sports a 7000 series aluminum frame with a Stainless steel hinge.

Coming to the cameras, there is a 48-megapixel camera on the rear with f/1.7 aperture and OIS. There is also an upgraded 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture on the front. The company also removed the front-facing fingerprint scanner and integrated it into the Moto dimple on the rear.

It comes packed with a 2,800mAh battery with support for 15W TurboPower fast charging. However, it remains to be seen what the battery life will be when using 5G on this device. Still, it is one of the best-looking foldable smartphones available on the market.
