The new Chromecast with Google TV is the go-anywhere Google TV that you may have always wanted. Or at least thought about.
A Google TV device that’s just as easy to pack up and take with you as it is to sit back and enjoy the delights it presents to you on the screen.
The new Chromecast with Google TV was first discovered months ago and was featured in a series of leaks. And some consumers were even able to get their hands on it as early as last week.
So there wasn’t really much left to learn about the device.
The new Chromecast with Google TV as 8GB of storage and a voice remote
This Chromecast is unlike any other that Google has released. For one it has Google TV onboard. This is Google’s rebrand of Android TV, and will be the new name for the technology going forward. It also comes with 8GB of internal storage and a voice remote.
Something which hasn’t ever been the case with other Chromecast devices. Of course the reason it comes with the internal storage and the remote are because it has Google TV.
The voice remote is there to interact with its features. Meanwhile the storage is there to allow the installation of applications and games.
With the remote you can control and navigate the user interface, of course. But it also has two app buttons that let you launch right into YouTube or Netflix. It’s also a Chromecast so you can still stream stuff to it from your phone if you want to.
It costs $49.99 and comes in three colors
For a retail cost of $49.99, this new Chromecast is quite the deal. It’s not quite as expensive as the Chromecast Ultra (which has no Google TV but it does support 4K UHD streaming), but it does come with the remote and it does a lot more.
So the price makes this a pretty great value for what you’re getting. It also comes in three different colors. Which are Snow, Sky, and Sunrise, and the device is being sold through the Google Store as well as at various retail partners.
Such as Walmart, where users were able to find it being sold early last week. Since these were on sale at Walmart early, you can likely already buy them elsewhere. If you’re eager to get your hands on one, now is the time.
Though these aren’t necessarily going to be hard to find. So you may not need to rush out and get one. In fact you may not need to go out and get one at all as you can just buy them online.
