OnePlus 8T Is Coming All Alone, Without The Pro Variant

The OnePlus 8T will launch as a single OnePlus flagship in the near future, without the Pro model. This information comes from a well-known tipster, Max J.

Max J. is very rarely wrong when it comes to such tips, so chances are this information is spot on. He recently reported that the OnePlus 8T is codenamed ‘Kebab’, and now he shared a new, slightly cryptic tweet.

He shared an image that says ‘Kebab2’, and indicates that the device is not coming. The Kebab2 is supposed to symbolize the OnePlus 8T Pro here, of course.

OnePlus will announce the 8T, but without the Pro variant

It seems like OnePlus is planning to concentrate on a single T series flagship this year. Truth be said, that’s probably the best idea. The company’s product placement when it comes to the T series was rather odd last year.

The OnePlus 7T was praised for a lot of reasons, and the 7T Pro seemed out of place. On top of that, the device was available in specific markets only, and the 7T did seem like a far better option.

OnePlus seems to want to avoid the confusion, and pushing out unnecessary phones to the market this time around. The company only needs to nail it with the OnePlus 8T, as it did with its predecessor.

The OnePlus 8T Pro won’t launch at all, it seems, just to be clear. OnePlus is aiming to launch several budget phones before the end of the year, though, but that’s a story for another time.

The OnePlus 8T will be made out of metal and glass. It will resemble the OnePlus 8 (Pro) quite a bit, it seems. A display camera hole will be a part of the package, and its bezels will be quite thin.

The device will include a flat display with 120Hz refresh rate

The phone will feature a flat display, unlike its sibling. According to recently-leaked specs, it will feature a 6.55-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Snapdragon 865 Plus will fuel this smartphone, while you can expect to get 8GB of RAM on the inside. 128GB of storage will be included, though other configurations are a possibility.

Android 11 will likely come pre-installed, along with OxygenOS 11. There is a chance OnePlus may include Android 10 with OxygenOS 10, and push out Android 11 soon after, we’ll see.

The phone will also include a larger battery, along with OnePlus’ Warp Charge fast charging. We’re not sure if wireless charging will be a part of the package, though. An in-display fingerprint scanner will be included.

A 48-megapixel main camera will be partnered up with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 5-megapixel macro shooter will also be included on the back, as will a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
