Sennheiser Touts High-End Acoustics In Its New CX 400BT Earbuds

Sennheiser is renowned for its superior quality audio and it’s bringing that passion for sound to the new CX 400BT True Wireless.

This is the company’s latest pair of truly wireless earbuds and they follow the launch of the True Momentum Wireless 2 released earlier this year. For Sennheiser, the CX 400BT are a way to prove that it was capable of keeping that high-end acoustic technology inside these earbuds. While also offering them at a lower price.

The True Momentum Wireless 2 launched with a retail price of $299. They still command that price even now, months later. The CX 400BT True Wireless however save consumers quite a bit but don’t skimp on the features.

If you want a better quality set of earbuds or headphones, it can be hard to beat a pair from Sennheiser.

But that quality also comes at a cost. And many of Sennheiser’s audio products are priced higher than some are willing to spend. There’s less of that sort of compromise with the CX 400BT because they’re $100 less than the company’s premium pair.

At $199, Sennheiser says it was also able to offer the same quality of high-end acoustic audio. These earbuds come with other notable features like customizable touch controls, and most importantly, battery life that lasts.

According to Sennheiser the battery life will last for up to 7 hours on a single charge. You can keep listening beyond that with additional charges from the case too. Which extend battery life to up to 20 hours between charges.

More or less this is all-day battery life. That is unless you plan to listen to the earbuds straight through until the battery dies. Even then you could just toss them in the case for a little bit.

If you want a customized sound profile, you can tune these things a little bit as well. Using the Sennheiser app, you can adjust the built-in equalizers.

They’re big in size but minimal in design

If you’re looking for a pair of true wireless earbuds that are as discreet as possible, these aren’t it.

As they’re fairly big and almost impossible to miss unless you have hair to cover them up. The design is pretty minimalist though. Which seems to be what Sennheiser was going for. The larger size for the earbuds should also mean more space for the better audio components. And it’s probably how the company fit the longer-lasting battery in there.

Sennheiser will begin selling the CX 400BT on September 15 at the suggested $199 price tag. You can pick them up in either Black or White, and you can already pre-order them from Amazon. They’re also available directly from Sennheiser as well as other retail partners like Adorama.
