Spotify Working On Karaoke Mode, Group Sessions & Other Features

According to a series of tweets by reverse engineer Jane Wong, Spotify has been spotted working on new features like karaoke mode, group sessions, offline playback for free users, and more.

Spotify is one of the largest music streaming applications. Moreover, it has become one of the most popular streaming apps due to the current pandemic scenario.

The company is also very actively looking to add new features and enhancements to the app. This is done to make the usability more exciting with new features.

The new features like karaoke mode, group sessions, offline streaming for free users, etc are all part of this. In a series of a tweet by Jane Wong, it comes to light the Spotify is making the most of the pandemic scenario, in a good way for its users.

Notably, Spotify is also working on Car Mode UI, new animations, and much more. However, one of the most exciting features is the karaoke mode.

Keep in mind that Spotify recently added real-time lyrics for 26 countries.  This feature will allow the users to see the lyrics of the song in the language they are sung in.

Besides, this can be enabled by pressing the “Lyrics” button at the bottom of the “Now Playing” screen. And now, the company is working on a karaoke mode to let users sing along with their favorite songs.

Spotify karaoke mode will let users adjust the volume of the vocals on the track

Additionally, the Spotify Karaoke mode will allow users to sing along with the song by lowering the volume levels of the vocals of the track.

Meaning that the voice will be lowered and music will continue to run, allowing the user to sing along with the music. Group Sessions is another feature spotted by Jane Wong.

This will let users connect to audio devices on the same WiFi network. Notably, this will help people in the same house change and select tracks easily as well as share audio devices with friends.

Car Mode is another feature that is currently under development. There is a new home screen, the in-car UI has now bigger buttons and a redesigned navigation bar.

When the Google Assistant is activated, it will be shown a separate banner on the top. Offline listening for free users is coming to Spotify soon.

Spotify free users will be able to stream music offline

Well, Spotify premium allows its users to download the entire library and play for free. Free users will now be able to download and play songs for 30 minutes every day.

Spotify is also spotted working on the “Your Episodes” section that will give podcast lovers the to save their favorite podcasts on the app.

As per Android Police, other new features that have been spotted under development for Spotify includes a new animation when you’re liking songs, an auto-refresh feature, etc.

However, make note that Spotify is currently working on these features. And it is uncertain at the moment to tell when these features will be available to the masses.
