TCL has kicked off its IFA 2020 announcements with a couple of new tablets. The company unveiled the TABMAX & TABMID affordable Android tablets under its TCL 10 series. During the same event, it also launched the MOVETIME Family Watch and MOVEAUDIO S200 TWS earbuds.

Speaking of the new tablets, they come packed with mid-range specifications and will be available in 4G LTE and Wi-Fi-only variants. The TCL TABMAX & TABMID will go on sale starting Q4, and the availability is limited to selected markets.

As per the names suggest, the TCL TABMAX is a better offering than the TCL TABMID. Both of the tablets run on Android 10 out of the box with custom TCL UI on the top. The company is including a dedicated Kids Mode along with parental controls.

Both the tablets will feature TCL’s proprietary “intelligent eye protection” for blue light reduction. It will even trigger an alarm when the face gets too close to the screen. The TCL TABMAX comes with a 10.36-inch LCD display with Full HD+ (2000 x 1200 pixels) resolution and symmetrical bezel.

It comes powered by MediaTek Helio P22T (MT8768T) octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In terms of cameras, there is a 13MP sensor on the rear and an 8MP sensor on the front. There are also dual speakers and dual microphones with far-field noise cancellation support.

Furthermore, it comes integrated with Google Assistant and can also be used as a smart display. As seen on high-end tablets, the mid-range TCL TABMAX also supports ultra-low latency T-Pen (Stylus) and keyboard case. It is backed by an 8,000mAh battery which should be good enough for using all-day.

On the other hand, the TCL TABMID comes with a smaller 8-inch LCD display with the Full HD+ (1920 x 1200 pixels)resolution. Even the top and bottom bezels on this tablet are relatively thicker compared to 2020 standards.

Interestingly, the company opted for a much superior Snapdragon 665 chipset for its smaller tablet. It includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is even a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage.

With the smaller screen size, the tablet obviously comes with a smaller 5,550mAh battery. There is an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. It measures 209.4 x 125.2 x 8.55 mm and weighs 325g.

Coming to the pricing, the smaller TCL TABMID will start at €230. The TCL TABMAX is priced at €249 and €299 for the Wi-Fi only and 4G LTE models respectively.
