This morning Acer announced a new curved gaming monitor in the Predator lineup that promises to let you see everything and immerse you even further into your game.
In fact the company unveiled a range of new gaming monitors this morning. Six to be exact. Not all of them are curved and not all of them are part of the Predator line. But all of them have something to offer to the discerning gamer looking for an upgrade.
Each new gaming monitor from Acer sits firmly in a slightly different price range as well. So there should be something that fits within the budget of every gamer. Whether you’re looking for something in the budget sector or you want something premium, it would appear that Acer has you covered.
A new curved gaming monitor from Acer to deliver more immersion
More immersion in games can be both a good and a bad thing. It really depends on the game. But either way if you want more immersion the Predator X34 GS can probably deliver it.
This is a curved IPS panel with a UWQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440. It’s 34-inches from corner to corner. And while it may not have the same crazy curvature as the Samsung Odyssey G9, it still has a nice curve to it that will help you see just about every little detail in your games.
Acer says it delivers clear picture even at wider viewing angles. It’s also compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync, and has a refresh rate of up to 180Hz (overclockable). Which means faster frame rates if you have a graphics card that will allow it.
All of that is no doubt attention grabbing. But one of the feature highlights that shouldn’t be overlooked is the adjustable positioning. The Predator X34 GS supports multiple viewing angles. As the base supports adjustable height up and down, and it swivels to the left and right. You can adjust the tilt as well.
Acer hasn’t put the monitor up for sale yet, but it will be launching in the near future. Consumers in the US and Canada will be able to purchase the Predator X34 GS in December. It’ll retail for $999.99 in the US.
More gaming monitors for every budget
The Predator X34 GS is the most expensive monitor in the bunch. But there are other options from Acer today.
There are three more in the Predator line, which includes the XB273U 27-inch QHD, the XB253Q GW 24.5-inch FHD, and the XB323U GX 32-inch QHD. The last two monitors are G-Sync compatible, but all of them support VESA DisplayHDR 400.
All three of these will be available in January of 2021, starting at $549.99 for the XB273U. The XB253Q GW meanwhile will retail for $429.99, and the XB323U GX will retail for $899.99.
In addition to these three monitors Acer also announced two new ones for the Nitro line. These are more of your budget monitors that aim to offer clear picture yet still stunning visuals for your games at a lower price point.
The Nitro XV272U KV for example has a 27-inch QHD display with a refresh rate of up to 170Hz overclocking and it retails for $$399.99. The Nitro XV272 LV is also 27-inches, but comes with an FHD display and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz overclocking. It also retails for significantly less at $279.99. Both of these will be available in December.
TUV Rheinland Eyesafe certified for blue light filtering
One last point worth noting is that three of the six new monitors are TUV Rheinland Eyesafe certified.
Acer says it’s the first brand as of this month to introduce gaming monitors that come with this feature. Which helps you filter out blue light while retaining vivid colors and picture quality. This includes the Predator XB273U NV, and both Nitro monitors.
