A ton of Huawei Mate 40 Pro information leaked. The phone appeared in renders from a reliable source, along with specifications. The phone’s special edition variant also surfaced in a real-life image, while the Mate 40 Pro+ retail packaging also appeared.
Most of this information comes from WinFuture, so that’s where we’ll start. The source actually shared the renders mentioned in the first paragraph, and the specs as well.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro design got revealed, along with a ton more information
As you can see in the images provided below this paragraph, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will be made out of metal and glass. Or so it seems based on these images. The phone will include a curved display, and a pill-shaped display camera hole.
On the back, you’ll notice a circular camera module, which does look different than anything else in the market. Huawei’s branding is also placed back there, along with Leica branding as well.
The source mentions that the phone features a 6.76-inch 2772 x 1344 OLED display. That comes down to 456 PPI, for those of you who are wondering. This will also be a high refresh rate display, we just don’t know if it will be a 90Hz or 120Hz panel.
An in-display fingerprint scanner will be included, an optical one. The Kirin 9000 will fuel the phone, and it will include eight cores. Four of them will use the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture, while the other four will use the ARM Cortex-A77.
The all-new Kirin 9000 will fuel this phone
In terms of the GPU, the Kirin 9000 will use the ARM Mali-G78. This chip will support 5G, by the way, it will probably support only Sub 6 5G, though. The EU version of this phone will include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. Other variants may include up to 12GB of RAM. The source also confirms that the Mate 40 RS and Pro+ models are also coming.
The device will include a new camera system that combines laser and optical autofocus. It will also include a temperature sensor for more accurate colors. The main camera on the phone will be a 50-megapixel unit with an f/1.9 aperture and OIS.
A 20-megapixel ultra-wide camera will also be included (f/1.8 aperture), as well as a 12-megapixel periscope camera with an f/3.4 aperture. This camera will offer a 5x optical zoom, it seems.
A 13-megapixel front-facing camera will also be a part of the package. Along with it, the company will include a “3D sensor”. This seems to be included so that the phone can recognize gestures, or something of the sort.
65W fast charging will also be supported here
A 4,400mAh battery will power this phone, and you will be able to recharge it by using the company’s 65W fast charging. Android 10 will come pre-installed on the device, without Google services.
Bluetooth 5.2 will be supported, as will WiFi 6. The phone will measure 162.9 x 75.5 x 9.1mm, and weigh 212 grams. The device will ship in black and silver color options, at least in Europe. Roland Quandt has also mentioned that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will cost around €1,100 in Europe.
Now, in the image below this paragraph, you can see the Huawei Mate 40 RS Porsche Design handset. As you can see, it will offer a different design on the back, compared to the regular unit.
And finally, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ retail packaging also surfaced. You can see the box in the images below, while not much info is provided. It does say that the device will include 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, though. It also mentions the ‘Ceramic Black’ color, so Huawei will use ceramic here.
Do note that the Huawei Mate 40 series will be announced on Thursday, October 22, so stay tuned for that.
