Samsung Galaxy S21 May Be More Affordable Than Its Predecessor

The Samsung Galaxy S21 could end up being more affordable than its predecessor, the Galaxy S20. This information comes from NOT DJ Koh who shared it on Twitter. Now, this is not exactly a usual source for rumors, so take it with a grain of salt.

He not only shared the alleged Galaxy S21 price tag, but also some other details regarding that device, and the S21 Ultra. That being said, we’ll start with the price tag.

The Galaxy S21 could be more affordable than the Galaxy S20

The Galaxy S21 is allegedly going to cost $899. As some of you may recall, the Galaxy S20 was priced at $999 when it launched. So, the Galaxy S21 may end up costing $100 less at launch.

In his tweet, the source also mentions that the Galaxy S21 will have a ‘glasstic’ back, as ‘Chun’ mentioned recently. This is not exactly surprising as both the Galaxy Note 20 and S20 FE feature a ‘glasstic’ back. That is essentially plastic, by the way.

The source also notes that both the Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra will feature 120Hz displays. That is to be expected, as both the Galaxy S20 and S20 Ultra feature such panels.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to ship with a new 108-megapixel camera

On top of all that, the source says that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will feature the ISOCELL Bright HM2 camera on the back. That is Samsung’s very own 108-megapixel camera that got announced last month. It’s a new improved iteration of the company’s previous 108-megapixel unit.

All of these rumors do seem to fit, so it’s possible the information is true. We will, of course, have to wait quite a bit of time to find out, as the Galaxy S21 series isn’t expected to launch until Q1 2021.

Samsung will probably announce those devices in February or March. The Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are all expected to arrive. Things may change by then, though, we’ll have to wait and see.
