Samsung in a recent post has mocked (guess who!) Apple, and this time around, it is for not including the charger with its latest flagship iPhone 12 series phone.
Well, it was mocked a lot when Apple removed the 3.5 mm jack from the smartphone. Soon after Apple ditched the 3.5mm jack, all other smartphone manufacturers including Samsung followed suit.
But it gave rise to a new truly wireless Bluetooth earbuds market. And is no hidden fact that there are tons of players in this category. New and already established companies are into this true wireless earbuds market.
Apple introduced four models of the iPhone 12, i.e. the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. In terms of features, the devices are more or less similar to last year’s iPhone 11.
But the company announced that it will not be bundling the charging brick with any of the iPhone 12 devices. As explained by Apple, this step is taken to reduce carbon emissions. And also done to avoid the mining and use of precious materials.
Moreover, the company also highlighted that this move would benefit the company’s shipping capabilities. As many as 70% more boxes can now be shipped on a pallet due to the reduced packaging size of the iPhone 12.
Samsung mocked Apple in a Facebook post for not including the charger with iPhone 12
In an official Facebook post, Samsung took a dig at Apple for this decision of not including basic things like chargers. The post reads, “Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger, to the best camera, battery, performance, memory, and even 120Hz screen on a smartphone.”
Well, this is not something new, as in the past, Samsung has mocked Apple several times. Who could forget the jibe taken against Apple’s decision of including that big fat notch?
However, a good thing for Apple is that other Android manufacturers always follow what Apple has done. Although Samsung did not follow Apple in implementing notch for its devices, it surely got rid of the 3.5mm jack. Which was the move first taken by Apple.
Sensibly thinking, take the scenario of buying a car. You do not purchase only the body of the car and then buy other parts separately like the tire, set of wheels, steering, etc. It comes as a package.
Here, by not including the charger, Apple has literally taken off one of the most important things that first-time buyers of Apple iPhone would need.
Every year there is a huge set of people that migrate from Android to Apple, just to experience the iOS ecosystem. But now without the charger in the iPhone 12 retail box, users might have second thoughts.
Whatever it is, loyal Apple iPhone users will still buy the iPhone 12, charger, or no charger. In fact, soon Android OEMs will follow the same steps, for which Apple is being mocked currently.
