Earlier this year Google announced game demos for Stadia. Those demos are going to be available this week.
In fact the first of those game demos is going live on Stadia beginning today. Back when Google announced demos were on the horizon, the only one that was confirmed to be coming was for Immortals: Fenyx Rising. A new open-world game from Ubisoft that has been likened to Breath Of The Wild.
Interestingly enough, Immortals: Fenyx Rising is not the first game demo that you can play this week. Fear not though as it won’t be far off.
Stadia game demos kicks off with Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle
The first of the three demos that players will have access to is actually Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle.
Even better is that you can click to play this game and jump right into it. Google is trying to make it as easy as possible to get in and have some fun. And there’s really no better way to do that than by handing out demos and letting people try games for free before they officially launch.
Demos are something that feel like a throwback to the earlier days of video games. Once upon a time demo discs were something you could look forward to quite often. Sometimes you’d get them with the purchase of another game.
Other times they’d come with a copy of a video game magazine. Game demos are still around, just less advertised than before, and usually in digital format. All that aside, demos on Stadia is one more thing that can help the platform gain some more attention. Which is something it definitely couldn’t hurt to have.
More demos are coming on Oct. 21 & Oct. 22

Though the demo is kicking off today for Pac-Man, more are coming. Tomorrow, October 21, Google is opening up access to a game demo for Humankind.
Then finally on October 22 a game demo will go live for Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle will be available to play for free in its demo state until October 27. Which means you have a week to check it out.
Google does not confirm whether or not the other two demos will be available for the same length of time though. On its Twitter post about the demos, the Stadia team says it has “nothing to share” about any future demos or how long each one will be available.
Demos are likely to last for a week each, but not necessarily guaranteed. With that being said, if you’re interested in either of the last two demos, play them immediately if you can. As they may be around for shorter periods of time.
