It’s now way easier to get a Pixel or Galaxy smartphone repaired in the US. The coronavirus fundamentally changed traditional business practices in many sectors. uBreakiFix has now launched a new program called “We Come to You” to offer mobile repair service at your doorstep. If not at home, users can choose any preferred location in the zip code.
While users can also opt for the mail-in service to avoid going to repair centers, it takes at least a week to repair and send it back. With the new “We Come to You” mobile repair program, users can book an appointment through uBreakiFix’s website and schedule an in-person visit for the same day.
uBreakiFix introduces “We Come to You” program to offer doorstep service
Though the company mentioned it to be a nationwide launch, the service is not yet available for all zip codes. Most of the eligible zip codes are nearby to the company’s brick and mortar service centers. The program currently includes 640 mobile repair vehicles across the US.
By the end of the year, it mentioned to expand the fleet size to 700 vehicles and will also start offering the service in Canada. If you didn’t know, uBreakiFix is the authorized service provider for both Samsung and Google. Alongside the Pixel and Galaxy smartphones, the doorstep service is also available for Apple iPhones.
The repair will be completed on-site in two hours or less
The company will offer limited services, including screen and battery replacements, as of now. However, it is planning to expand the service to more devices and repairs. The technician from uBreakiFix will complete the repair on-site in about two hours or less.
Notably, the appointment for the technician visit includes a $30 non-refundable fee. Moreover, users also need to mention what type of repair they needed. The company has nearly 600 stores across the US and Canada and completed over 9 million repairs to date.
“Customers have less time than ever, and they’re looking for goods and services that offer convenience without sacrificing quality. Our We Come to You program was designed to meet that need by giving customers the flexibility to get their phone fixed whenever and wherever works best for them,” said Justin Wetherill, uBreakiFix Co-Founder and President.
Earlier this year, it has partnered with Google to offer free repairs for the first responders and healthcare workers. Apart from offering screen and battery replacements, it even covered liquid damage for free in some cases.
