Detailed Samsung Galaxy S21 series specs have just surfaced online, along with some additional information. All of this comes from Android Police, who have shared quite a bit of information during the weekend.
The source says that this information has been “confirmed through multiple sources”, so it should be accurate. Android Police also claims to have seen official press renders of the three devices, but that it cannot publish them in order to protect its sources’ identities. It did say that the leaked CAD renders of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are accurate, though.
Detailed Galaxy S21 series specs have been shared
Let’s get down to it, shall we. First we’ll talk about what they’ll have in common when it comes to specs. All three smartphones will ship with Android 11, with Samsung’s One UI 3.1 skin installed on top of it.
All of them will be fueled by the Snapdragon 875 in some markets, and the Exynos 2100 in others. The Snapdragon chip will, as per usual, be included in the US in China. The Exynos SoC will be packed inside European and Indian models.
5G will be supported on all three phones, and the same goes for Bluetooth 5.1. The Galaxy S21 and S21+ will sport Wi-Fi 6, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra will pack in Wi-Fi 6E. From this point, the specs do differ a bit.
The Galaxy S21 will be the smallest handset in the series, as expected
The Galaxy S21 will feature a 6.2-inch fullHD+ LTPS display with 120Hz refresh rate. It will pack in a 4,000mAh battery, and three cameras on the back. It will include a 12-megapixel main unit, 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 64-megapixel telephoto one. Same as the Galaxy S21+, in fact.
The Galaxy S21 will arrive in the Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray, and Phantom White colors. That is pretty much it as far as the Galaxy S21 info is concerned.
Regarding the Galaxy S21+, you can expect a 6.7-inch fullHD+ LTPS display with 120Hz. A 4,800mAh battery will be included, while the phone will ship in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Violet colors.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra will offer adaptive refresh rate
The Galaxy S21 Ultra will sport a 6.8-inch WQHD+ LTPO display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. A 5,000mAh battery will be included in the device, while the phone will sport four cameras on the back.
It will include a 108-megapixel main camera (2nd-gen sensor), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide unit, a 3x optical 10-megapixel unit, and a 10x optical 10-megapixel camera.
The ‘Ultra’ will arrive in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver color variants. That’s it as far as specs are concerned, but the source did share more information.
The entry-level model will, for better or worse, include a plastic backplate
The Galaxy S21 will sport a plastic backplate, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra will ship with a glass back. We still don’t know about the Galaxy S21+, as that information hasn’t been shared. The source did say that the reaction to the plastic back on the Galaxy S20 FE has been more positive than Samsung expected, though.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra will have Wi-FI 6E support, which is supposed to be 2x faster than Wi-Fi 6, at least that’s what Samsung wants us to believe. We’ll see. All three models will support fast charging, and neither of them will offer charging speeds slower than 25W.
The ‘Ultra’ will be the only one to support the S Pen, it seems
The Galaxy S21 Ultra will also offer S Pen support, though the stylus won’t be included in the box. Samsung is, however, planning on selling cases that will store the S Pen outside the body of the phone.
Cameras on all three smartphones will offer more features this time around. All of them will support 4K recording at 60 FPS. Samsung’s Super Steady stabilization will be getting 60 FPS recording. Samsung is also adding an 8K 30 FPS option, by the way.
As a reminder, all three of these smartphones are expected to become official in January. Samsung allegedly decided to launch them early to try and grab Huawei’s users.
