While smartphones are getting better and better, the chipsets under the hood are also getting powerful. And latest leak from well-known leaker Ice Universe suggests that Exynos 2100 would be more powerful than the Snapdragon 875.
If you have been living under the rock, Samsung recently unveiled the Exynos 1080 chipset. It has all the bells and whistles that you would require to have on a powerful smartphone.
To give you some brief about it, the Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset is based on the 5nm EUV process which also comes with 5G support. The SoC is an octa-core processor with a 4+3+1 core configuration.
Moreover, the chipset from Samsung comes with support for high-refresh-rate displays. One important highlight of the Exynos 1080 chipset is that it can support up to a 200-megapixel camera sensor.
At the moment, it is not clear which smartphone would come with that 200 MP sensor. Although it has all the sheer power for a flagship SoC, it is still a mid-range chipset.
Notably, the Exynos 1080 is more powerful than the current Snapdragon 865, at least on paper. However, eyes are now locked on Exynos 2100 which would be the company’s flagship processor.
Famous leaker Ice Universe is pretty confident that the Samsung build Exynos 2100 would outperform the Snapdragon 875. It will be more powerful than the latest SoC from Qualcomm.
Exynos 2100 and the Snapdragon 875 are expected to have the same core configuration
On one hand, it is rumored that Exynos 2100 would be powerful than Snapdragon 875, both the chipsets will have the same core configuration.
And if this turns out to be true, then markets, where Samsung sells its phones powered by the Exynos chipset, will have some good thing to say about the Exynos processors.
Usually, American and Chinese variants of Samsung’s flagship phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. And other regions have recently gotten awake about the low performance of the Exynos chipset over its Snapdragon counterpart.
Their questions are also legit as the Korean OEM is charging the same amount of money for an underpowered flagship in some regions like India, which for many reasons is one of the biggest markets for Samsung.
Users in markets including Europe, India, and the Middle East, are treated with Exynos chipset devices, which as of now, have always remained underpowered than the Snapdragon variants.
Even though the upcoming Exynos 2100 would not outperform the Snapdragon 875 in reality, the difference would not be that glaring as they will be based on the same core configuration.
Besides, the Exynos 2100 would come paired with Mali-G78 GPU. And the Snapdragon 875 will likely feature the Adreno 660 GPU.
It is almost certain that the Exynos 2100 CPU has more powerful performance than the Snapdragon 875, and European consumers finally laughed.
