Chances are you’ve heard of the FaceApp application. That app managed to become immensely popular a while back, thanks to its excellent aging filter. Well, FaceApp now brings that very same magic to the video format, as it can make you look old in video selfies as well.
That filter happens to be the most fun to play around with, but the ‘Young’ option is also available, as are some other ones. Young, Old, Smile, Upset, and Hipster (adds a beard) are free filters that you can play around with.
Do note that three additional ones are available if you opt for a subscription model. Those three additional ones are Hollywood, Makeup, and Kiss. You can pay $5 a month, $30 a year, or $50 for a lifetime subscription.
FaceApp can now make you look old in video clips as well
This new version of the app is 4.0, and these filters do work really nicely, for the most part. I’ve tried out the aging filter on myself, but it didn’t exactly work as I thought it would. I have a beard, and that beard kept on flickering no matter what I did.
Truth be said, it’s cloudy here today, so that may have something to do with it, but I tried it under three different lighting conditions and got the same result. If you don’t have a beard, chances are you won’t have such issues.
That aside, the filters do work really well, they’re definitely worth trying out. You do not need to pay anything in order to use a standard set of filters. Truth be said, those are probably the most interesting ones anyway.
