The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have started receiving a new stable update, which boosts security, battery life, and much more. This update is marked as OxygenOS 11.0.2.2.
This update boosts OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro security with new Android security patch
The update brings a new security patch to the devices, a security patch for November 2020. That is just a piece of the puzzle, though, as there are quite a few entries in the changelog.
This update optimizes the experience for the split-screen applications. It also optimizes power consumption, thus prolonging battery life on the two phones.
If you’ve ever had an issue with taking screenshots on either of the two phones, well, that should no longer be the case. The company has fixed a bug that was affecting a small number of users.
This update will also make sure that the cache is deleted once an app is uninstalled. That is also an issue that occurred rarely, but it did occur. The screen will also not flash when you use a fingerprint unlock.
Horizon Light, NFC, and Parallel Apps bugs have been fixed
A bug with Horizon Light has been fixed as well, as it did not activate normally in some cases. A bug preventing NFC from turning on has also been fixed, and the same goes for Parallel Apps.
Some users have also had issues with the Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charging, as it refused to work in some instances. Well, that will no longer be the case either.
The Google Play Store also refused to install an app from time to time, which is also something OnePlus took care of with this update. Any network interruptions that the company found have been removed as well.
This update weighs 273MB, and it comes to European, Indian, and North American variants of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. In other words, every regular variant of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro is covered. The update started rolling out, but it’s a staged rollout, so it may take a couple of days for it to arrive to your phone.
