Razer just announced the Wolverine V2, a brand-new controller that is designed specifically for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
For gamers by gamers. A motto that has stuck with Razer since its humble beginnings. And it’s a motto that still seems to ring true even now, some 22 (almost 23) years later.
With the Wolverine V2, Razer is, quite literally, putting the power in the hands of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S owners to gain an unfair advantage on the competition. Whether your favorite games happen to be shooters or you prefer a different genre, the Wolverine V2 seems up to the task.
The task of elevating your game experience with precise controls and comfort over long gaming sessions. Is the Razer Wolverine V2 the ultimate controller for the Xbox Series X? That depends on what you want out of a controller. But it will damn sure be an excellent option no matter what.
The Razer Wolverine V2 is a mostly affordable controller for the Xbox Series X
The Razer Wolverine V2 isn’t just a great controller option. It’s also fairly affordable compared to some of Razer’s other options.
It comes with a $99 price tag. Which is half the cost of the Wolverine Ultimate that Razer makes for the Xbox One. The company has gained a reputation for putting out costly tech. That however doesn’t mean that the products aren’t worth the price.
Razer also has a reputation for creating some really good peripherals. Both in design and function. And its popularity has grown over the years to allow Razer to command the prices it does.
With the Wolverine V2, you’re getting a controller with action buttons and a D-Pad that feature Razer’s Mecha-Tactile technology. Razer says these provide greater accuracy than other controllers. And both the action buttons and the D-Pad are rated for a 3 million tap lifecycle. Which means this thing should last a while.
A controller with a hair trigger fire rate
Sometimes it’s all about who can get off the most shots or the fastest shots. And in both cases you should be golden if you’re using this controller.
The Razer Wolverine V2 features a “Hair Trigger Mode” that Razer says will up your rate of fire to ultra-fast speeds thanks to the trigger stop sliders. In addition to that, the controller has two multi-functional buttons on the front that can be remapped to suit your personal play style.
Of note is that this is a wired controller. So depending on how far away your console is from your seat, this may not work that well. That being said, the cable is 9.8 feet long according to Razer’s website. So it should be just fine for most people.
