As technology is progressing, newer forms of tech devices are coming up. The latest addition to it is by an Israeli company, SoundBeamer by Noveto Systems, that beams sound directly to the head of the user without any headphones.
Isn’t that too futuristic? Well, we are knocking on the doors of the future, already. Imagine a world, where you have your own personal sound bubble. And you can listen to your favorite music, play computer games, watch movies, etc. without any headphones on you.
You do not have to worry about wires, connectivity via Bluetooth, etc. and you can enjoy your content without any hassle. The SoundBeamer from Noveto Systems aims to do just that.
In an official press announcement and an exclusive demo to The Associated Press, the company showcased its SoundBeamer sound system.
The desktop prototype of SoundBeamer highlighted all the device’s main features, before the launch of the device on Friday. From the early impressions, the sound technology seems to be straight out of a sci-fi movie.
The 3D-sound coming from the SoundBeamer feels close to as if you are wearing an actual headphone. You can sound from above and behind and the complete surround sound system is surreal, considering there is no actual device that you are wearing.
Lack of headphones in SoundBeamer means you can hear other sounds in the room clearly
The company, Noveto Systems, says that the device has a lot of practical implementation. Notably, office workers can listen to conferences and music, without disturbing other workers.
Gamers can play their games without having to have a device around their heads. Moreover, anyone can listen to music or watch movies without disturbing anyone around them.
Besides, the company claims that it is possible that you will also be able to hear sounds in the room clearly because of the lack of headphones in SoundBeamer.
The SoundBeamer uses a 3D sensing module that locates and tracks the ear position of the user. This is done via sending audio via ultrasonic waves, creating sound pockets by the user’s ears.
Notably, the sound can be heard in 3D and stereo. Apparently, this creates a 360-degree sound around the listener of SoundBeamer. The demonstration was conducted via Zoom from Tel Aviv.
There is a setting in the sound system that can follow a listener and beam the sound towards the moving listener. Moreover, if the listener moves out of the SoundBeamer range, then they will hear nothing at all.
Nevertheless, this no-headphones sound beaming technology is not something new. However, Noveto is the first to launch a sound system using technology.
