The Samsung Galaxy S21 series have been leaking for quite some time now. Pretty much every leak said that three Galaxy S21 variants are coming, and another report just confirmed that.
XDA Developers’ Mishaah Rahman is the source of this information. He confirmed that Samsung will proceed with the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. He also confirmed that all three phones will arrive in Qualcomm and Exynos variants, as expected.
On top of that, he also shared their model numbers. The Galaxy S21 is coming with the SM-G991 model number. The Galaxy S21+ is marked as SM-G996, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra is also known as SM-G998.
Three Samsung Galaxy S21 variants are coming in January
All three of those phones are expected to launch in January. A tipster actually revealed the launch date for the three phones yesterday. He said that the Galaxy S21 series will become official on January 14.
All three devices will become available to pre-order on that same day. You’ll have to wait until January 29 in order to purchase the devices, though, as that’s when they’ll go on sale and ship to consumers who pre-ordered them.
Samsung seems to aim for an early Galaxy S series launch this time around. Those devices usually launch in late February, but that won’t be the case in 2021. Samsung moved the launch date up for about six weeks, it seems.
We’re not sure why that is, but there could be several reasons. The sales of the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series haven’t been as good as the company had hoped. The pandemic could be another reason, and the same goes for the rescheduling of the MWC 2021. It usually takes place in Q1, but it has been moved to the summer.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 series will look similar to the Galaxy S20 series. Samsung will keep the display camera hole, and metal + glass build. All three devices already surfaced in CAD-based renders.
