DOOM Zero Brings Additional Levels To DOOM & DOOM II On Android

DOOM Eternal might be the latest game in the franchise, but if you feel like reliving the days of old, consider checking out DOOM Zero on Android.

Yesterday afternoon Bethesda announced the arrival of DOOM Zero for the re-released versions of the original DOOM and DOOM II. DOOM Zero first arrived for the original non-re-released versions of these games back in 2019, courtesy of the mod’s creator Christopher Golden.

Now that the mod is available for the re-released versions of DOOM and DOOM II, you can play the new content anywhere you like. At home on your console or PC, or on the go from your phone if you have those versions of the game.

DOOM Zero includes 32 new levels and new enemies

DOOM Zero is not for the faint of heart. In the original trailer for it Golden says it was designed for high skill level and nerves of steel.

Which means if you should expect a fair level of challenge if you decide to dive into it. Should you take the plunge you’ll be able to rip and tear your way through 32 new levels that will surely punish you.

There’s new enemies to slay, a new boss, and new music to jam out to while you beat everything down. That being said, DOOM Zero doesn’t stray from the gameplay of the original games.

It features accurate movement and all the stuff you’d expect if you were to go back and play DOOM or DOOM II in their original forms. Just some with some new game content and new ideas to spice things up.

Even seasoned slayers will find it challenging

If you play DOOM for the challenge, fear not. DOOM Zero shouldn’t lose any of that challenge that you would so desperately crave.

According to Bethesda, the DOOM Zero mod will have even the most seasoned slayers “putting on their thinking caps.” Thanks to things like branching paths and what are likely some pretty difficult challenges.

If you have either of the re-released games, you can find the DOOM Zero mod in the game menu. Which means you should be able to hop right in and play without any waiting time.

Though you may need to update the games if you’re not seeing the content available. Something which users should be accustomed to if they play mobile games as updates for new content is nothing new.

That’s assuming you don’t have auto updates enabled.
