The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ are the latest Galaxy smartphones to receive the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 stable update. The 2019 S Pen-wielding flagships are receiving their second major Android OS updates in Germany, Switzerland, and Spain. Samsung will likely expand the rollout to more regions in the coming days.
The One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ in Germany bumps the firmware version to N970FXXU6ETLL and N975FXXU6ETLL respectively. The firmware version may vary from market to market though. The new update also brings the December 2020 Android security patch.
In terms of new features, Samsung has plenty to offer. There are tons of Android 11 goodies including the media playback widget, support for chat heads, improved Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls, a conversations section in the notifications panel, and a lot more. Additionally, One UI 3.0 also has its own perks.
Some of the notable changes in One UI 3.0 include repositioned volume controls, lock screen widgets, and a feature-rich keyboard. Samsung has also made improvements to stock apps such as Messages, Contacts, Phone, and Calendar. You’ll notice some major UI changes as well.
The notification shade and quick settings now have a blurred, transparent background rather than an opaque background. The Bixby Routines feature is also getting a new UI. Last but not least, Samsung Internet v13.0 now comes default with One UI 3.0.
Samsung releases stable One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy Note 10 series
Samsung has been remarkably fast in pushing the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 to its smartphones this year. The company has already pushed the update to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and the Galaxy Z Flip series phones. The affordable Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S10 Lite have also received the latest update. Now, the Galaxy Note 10 series phones are making the jump as well.
As mentioned earlier, the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 stable update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ is currently rolling out in Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. If you live in one of those regions and are using either of the two phones, then there’s a good chance that an over the air (OTA) update is already waiting for you.
Hit the Settings app and go to the Software update section to download the update, if you haven’t already. That said, since updates are released in batches, it may not be available for all eligible units simultaneously. You should get a notification once the update becomes available for your handset.
For people in other regions, watch out for the notification. You can also manually check for updates by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. Since it’s a major OS update, we recommend you connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the OTA file.
