Gorgeous Xiaomi Rollable Smartphone Appears In A Concept Video

Xiaomi may be working on its very own rollable smartphone, as a patent was spotted, and a concept video created based on that patent. This is a design patent we’re talking about, which surfaced on both USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office).

As some of you already know, OPPO showed off its concept rollable smartphone quite recently, the OPPO X 2021. That device won’t become available anytime soon, but it’s a working device. It’s also the world’s first rollable smartphone.

LG is expected to announce its rollable smartphone in H1 2021. That device will probably go on sale before OPPO’s, but we still do not know the details. One thing is for sure, rollable smartphones are coming.

This is just a concept of the Xiaomi rollable smartphone, but the company may be developing something similar

Xiaomi still did not announce its first foldable smartphone, and it seems to be working on a rollable device already. We do not know if this device will launch at all, but it has been shown on the Concept Creator YouTube channel, who partnered up with Letsgodigital.

This phone looks very sleek, and it’s not a regular rollable device. The vast majority of this smartphone is made out of a display. The display stretches from the front to the back of the phone.

It’s basically an evolution of the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha working concept that Xiaomi showed off at the end of 2019. The whole front side is basically covered by a display, while most of the back is as well, except for the vertical line on the right, which houses the phone’s cameras and LED flash.

As if that’s not enough, the phone expands. Its display rolls out horizontally, to offer an even larger canvas for you to use. The sides are completely curved, and the design is symmetrical. There is even a 3.5mm headphone jack included here.

For more information, check out the video below. Let’s hope that Xiaomi will make something similar to this at some point.
