LG is long rumored to launch the mid-range LG Stylo 7 with an overhauled design. The company is also working on a 5G variant of the LG Stylo 7, according to a new leak. The leak also includes renders of the LG Stylo 7 5G revealing the complete design of the device.
If everything goes as planned, there will be two successors to the LG Stylo 6. The LG Stylo 6 debuted in May this year for $219.99. The CAD-based renders of the LG Stylo 7 leaked last month also revealed a similar design as its 5G counterpart. According to the source, both the LG Stylo 7 smartphones might launch with similar design and specifications.
LG Stylo 7 5G leaked renders confirm stylus support
Notably, the major difference in these upcoming smartphones will be 5G connectivity. With the LG Stylo 7 smartphones, the company takes a more modern approach. The 6.8-inch display on the LG Stylo 7 5G features a top-center punch-hole cutout for accommodating the single selfie camera.
While the top and side bezels are fairly slim, the bottom bezel is too thick even for a mid-range smartphone standard. On the rear, it sports a vertically aligned triple camera setup along with an LED flash. The device seems to come with a glossy finish polycarbonate body.
It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner
Like the other smartphones in the Stylo series, the new LG Stylo 7 5G will also come with stylus support. The bottom of the smartphone houses the stylus slot, USB Type-C port, speaker, and 3.5mm audio jack. There is a volume rocker, SIM card slot, and dedicated button likely for triggering the Google Assistant on the left side.
The side-mounted fingerprint scanner on this device also functions as a power button. The LG Stylo 7 5G measures 170.4 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm, excluding the camera bump. With the camera bump, the thickness of the device increases to 10mm. LG is yet to roll out the latest Android 11 update for any of its smartphones.
Despite that, these new Stylo 7 smartphones could still launch with Android 11-based LG UX 10 out of the box. While the newly leaked renders confirm the Stylo 7 5G to sport triple rear cameras, the previous leak mentioned the Stylo 7 4G variant to feature a quad-camera setup on the rear.
LG is expected to unveil the Stylo 7 lineup in early 2021. As of now, there is no official confirmation over the launch of these new mid-range LG smartphones.
