OnePlus Nord N10 5G Update Improves Power Consumption, Camera & More

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G has started receiving a new update that improves power consumption, camera performance, and more. This update is marked as ‘OxygenOS 10.5.8’, and it is rolling out as we speak.

The update is rolling out in both Europe and North America, with versions 10.5.8.BE89BA and 10.5.8.BE86AA, respectively. The change logs are the same in both regions, by the way. Needless to say, this update is rolling out OTA (Over The Air).

This update improves power consumption on the OnePlus Nord N10 5G

The changelog is not long at all, but some interesting things were improved here. The first entry in the changelog goes straight to the point, it highlights power consumption improvements of the system.

OnePlus didn’t go into details here, but the battery life should be better as a result. This update also brings a new Android security patch to the phone, one for December 2020. In addition to that, the GMS package got updated to the version from September.

In terms of the cameras, OnePlus simply said that the shooting experience has been improved. Once again, the company did not go into details here, but some tweaks were made to the camera performance.

The last entry in the changelog has to do with network connectivity. OnePlus has improved the connection stability of the mobile network overall, though, once again, details were omitted.

The device is still running Android 10

Do note that the phone is still running Android 10, though. Android 11 still didn’t arrive to the phone, though it is expected to get it in the near future. Do note that the phone will get only one major Android update, so Android 12 won’t be developed for this handset.

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is the second most powerful ‘Nord’ smartphone to date. It is positioned above the Nord N100, and below the OnePlus Nord. Both of those phones launched this year, the same as the Nord N10 5G. If you’d like to know more about the Nord N10 5G, check out our full review.
