The Samsung Galaxy Note series is not dead, it seems, as the company confirmed that a new phone(s) is coming in 2021. Samsung Electronics spokesperson shared the information with Yonhap News, a South Korea news site.
The Galaxy Note series is not dead, a new phone(s) is coming next year
He said that the company is preparing to release a new Galaxy Note series handset(s) next year. This finally clears things up, as we’ve seen a ton of reports regarding this. Some were claiming that the Galaxy Note 20 and 20 Ultra were the last Note-branded phones. Others said that we’re getting one more generation, and that’s it.
Interestingly enough, not a single report suggested that Samsung may continue making Note-branded phones past 2021. Samsung’s spokesperson did not confirm that either, but that doesn’t mean Samsung won’t be doing it.
If we had to guess, we’d say that the Galaxy Note 21 series will close up the Note brand for Samsung. There were too many reports claiming that will happen. There’s always a chance Samsung may change its mind, of course.
The Galaxy Z Fold series is expected toGalaxy Note not dead replace the Galaxy Note lineup at some point
Why may this happen? Well, Samsung is expected to replace the Note series with its foldable Z Fold series smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will feature an S Pen next year, based on reports. We’re presuming that the same will happen with its successor as well.
Even the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will support the S Pen. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 3, however, it won’t ship with one. The Galaxy Note series was immensely successful for Samsung, so that may be an odd move for the company, though it makes sense, to a degree.
There’s not that much difference between the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineups at this point, save for the S Pen support. Samsung probably doesn’t see the need for the Galaxy Note devices in addition to the Galaxy S lineup, and the Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
Speaking of foldables, Samsung is rumored to release four of them in 2021, based on yesterday’s report.
