Samsung is planning to release a Rose Gold color variant of the Galaxy Watch Active 2. This information comes from Evan Blass, as he shared a render of that version of the watch.
Mr. Blass shared this information via the ‘Voice’ platform. The render he shared is high-res, so you can see the watch in its full glory. It seems like it will come with a strap in a lavender color, which goes nicely with the watch frame.
If you take a closer look at the watch face, you’ll see a date on there. It says Thursday, January 14. There’s a reason for that. That is when Samsung is planning to announce its new flagships, the Galaxy S21 series.
The Rose Gold Galaxy Watch Active 2 will launch alongside the Galaxy S21
It seems like this variant of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will become official during the same press event. It looks the same as the other color variants of the Galaxy Watch Active 2, of course.
Speaking of which, Samsung is offering quite a few variants of this watch. There are stainless steel variants, which come with LTE. Aluminum variants of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 do not offer mobile data connectivity.
Each of those variants come in 40 and 44mm variants. The stainless steel models are available in Silver, Black, and Gold options. The aluminum units come in Cloud Silver, Aqua Black, and Pink Gold options.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 launched quite some time ago, starting at $279.99. The 44mm version launched at $299. We’re guessing that the same price tags will be attached to the Rose Gold model.
We’re also guessing that this variant of the watch will arrive in both 42 and 44mm variants, but we cannot be sure. The watch will ship with Samsung’s very own Tizen OS, of course. Samsung does not make Wear OS-powered smartwatches at this point, it relies completely on Tizen. That is probably a good idea, though, as Samsung’s smartwatches are quite popular, and Tizen became a truly compelling offering in the wearable sector.
