Samsung To Introduce A New Smartphone App Called 'Samsung O'

According to a recent report by LetsGoDigital, Samsung is expected to launch a new smartphone application called the ‘Samsung O.’ The Samsung O app is speculated to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series.

Notably, on December 4, Samsung Electronics applied for a trademark via Italy at EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). The trademark was filed for the designation ‘Samsung O.’

As per the trademark shared by LetsGoDigital, the Samsung O application is categorized as Class 9/35/38/41/42 /45. Moreover, there is also an extensive description of the application.

Under the heading ‘Trademark Description,’ it states that Samsung O is a smartphone software meant for “users to share daily information to provide interactive and personalized intelligence.

So, it means that this application will be software where users can search for information about the latest news, as well as games, music, TV, and other information.

Additionally, the Samsung O description says that users will be able to stream audio, visual, and audiovisual material. And also host content on the internet and use social networking online services.

Samsung O is expected to come pre-loaded on the upcoming Galaxy S21 devices

The company is gearing up for the launch of the Galaxy S21 series devices in early 2021. Three new Galaxy S21 phones are set for launch and as per several leaks, the company may improve the Galaxy S21 series, both in terms of hardware and software.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21 smartphones along with Android 11-based One UI 3.1. We speculate that Samsung wants to make more software changes with the Samsung O application.

Coming back to the Samsung O app, it seems like the app is an expanded version of the Samsung Daily. FYI, Samsung Daily is a replacement app for Bixby Home.

It comes pre-installed on Galaxy devices running One UI 2.0 or above. So, we can expect that Samsung O will come pre-installed on Galaxy S21 series phones.

Besides, there are many surprises that Samsung will unwrap with the launch of Galaxy S21. Apparently, it is worth noting that the Galaxy S21 Ultra would be the first-ever S-series phone to support the S Pen.

The phone will not ship with the S Pen, nor it will offer a dedicated space for storage of the S Pen inside the phone. Users will have to buy it separately. Pretty Apple-ish from Samsung.

Samsung will probably launch the Galaxy S21 in mid-January 2021. However, our source claims that the Galaxy S21 series will go on sale in February. For more detailed info about the entire Galaxy S21 lineup, you can head over here.
