Scuf, the brand that’s behind the popular customizable controllers for PC and consoles, now makes a gaming headset that can match those controllers. This is also Scuf’s first gaming headset.
While not quite as customizable as the controllers themselves, the Scuf gaming headset does have some visual customization. Which is how it’s able to match the controller you may have or pick up.
You might not think of Scuf when you think of brands for gaming audio. But Scuf is owned by Corsair, who already makes a ton of different gaming headsets in addition to all its PC gaming components. The Scuf headset, called the H1, is available for purchase starting today and it comes in two colors. Black and White.
It’s also a wired headset, which is factored into the price of it. So that’s something to consider if you’re on the lookout for a new headset for your gaming needs. You can also check out our Best Gaming Headsets guide if you want some more options.
The Scuf H1 gaming headset starts at a measly $130
It’s not the cheapest wired headset out there. Especially when you consider something like the Razer Kraken X that retails for $50.
But for a headset that comes with customization and the possibility to match your controllers, as well as multi-platform compatibility, $130 isn’t bad. All that being said, $130 is the base price for this headset. That’s what you’ll pay if you get the bare minimum.
After you select the headset color, you can select from a variety of speaker tags. The most expensive cost $20 extra. You can then customize the ring color around the speaker tag, which are another $2 if you pick anything other than black.
Scuf also lets you swap out the synthetic leather ear cushions for a hybrid pair, which are $10. You can even upgrade from a uni-directional mic to an omni-directional mic for another $10. And of course you can change the color of the ear cushions, cable, and mic with options between black and light gray. Those color options are free though.
All told if you select every single premium upgrade, the headset cost bumps up to $172. Which isn’t cheap for a wired headset that doesn’t offer things like head tracking, noise passthrough, and active noise cancellation. But if you value all the customization options, this might be for you.
It works with PC and consoles
As mentioned this is a multi-platform headset which means you can use it with PC and consoles.
In fact it works with PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. If you’re like many gamers out there, you probably have a gaming PC and at least one console. And the Scuf H1 can be the headset you use for all of them because it’s compatible.
So while the customization options may make it a bit pricey, its versatility could save you some money in the long run.
