The latest report by ITHome reveals the alleged specifications of the upcoming flagship from Sony, the Sony Xperia 1 III. Notably, the phone is also speculated to sport the same price as its predecessor.
This year, back in February, Sony unveiled its camera-centric Sony Xperia 1 II. It packed Snapdragon 865 SoC, 4K OLED screen, 12MP quad-camera setup with Zeiss optics, and much more.
Moreover, the price of the device was set at 7,838 yuan (approx. $1,199) in the US. And it seems like the company wants to take the competitive route and keep the price of its Xperia 1 III the same as the Xperia 1 II.
But the same price tag does not mean that Sony will compromise on the specifications. In fact, the Sony Xperia 1 III will come with some cranked up specifications.
A Twitter user has also shared the details on the alleged specifications of the device. With no questions, the Sony Xperia 1 III flagship will be powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Besides, as per the user, the phone will come with a 6.5-inch 4K OLED HDR display. FYI, this is the same display size as the Sony Xperia 1 II. Apparently, this also means that the company will keep the 21:9 cinematic ratio.
Sony Xperia 1 III is rumored to pack a 15% brighter 4K display
Although the display size and the aspect ratio are the same as its predecessor, the display on the Xperia 1 III is speculated to be 15% brighter, comparatively. Not sure how much that is going to be visible to the naked eye of the users.
Talk about other specs, the phone is rumored to pack 8GB of RAM and offer 256GB of onboard storage. The fingerprint scanner will be mounted on the power button located on the side of the device.
The Sony Xperia 1 III is also expected to come with IP65/IP68 water and dust resistance. However, taking a look at the Xperia 1 II, we assume that it will be IP68-rating at least.
That said, there is not much information on the specifications of the camera and battery of the device. We are sure that it will not take long before that information is also out for the Sony Xperia 1 III.
As already mentioned, the Xperia 1 III is alleged to sport the same price tag of $1,199 as the Xperia 1 II. Apart from this, the company is also rumored to be working on a compact smartphone.
The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 775 processor. It is expected to be the successor to the Sony Xperia 10 II.
