The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite smartwatch has just been announced globally, kind of. The company opted for a silent launch, as it listed the device on its global website, mi.com.
For those of you who are out of the loop, this is actually the Redmi Watch that launched last month. It was expected to be rebranded with a Mi brand on it, for the global markets, and that’s exactly what happened.
Xiaomi still did not announce the price tag of this device, but it will be very affordable. The Redmi Watch is priced at CNY299 ($46), so this device will probably offer a similar price tag, though it’ll surely cost a bit more outside of China.
Needless to say, this device does look a lot like the Apple Watch. It’s not that difficult to differentiate between the two. The rotating “crown” is not a part of this watch, plus the design is somewhat different, and it’s easy to notice this is not an Apple Watch.
The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite has a lot to offer, while it won’t cost much at all
Having said that, This watch has a lot to offer. It has a single physical button on the right, and it comes with a silicone watch band. It includes a 1.4-inch color LCD display (320 x 320), with 323 ppi.
The watch has a 230mAh battery on the inside. The company says that the battery can last up to nine days on a single charge, with “typical use”. It can also last up to 10 hours in continuous GPS sports mode.
This smartwatch is also 5ATM water resistant, which means it can work up to 50 meters below the surface. Heart rate monitoring is supported, and the same goes for sleep monitoring, and guided breathing exercises.
There are over 120 watch faces installed on the watch, while there are quite a few color variants to choose from. You can choose between Black, Ivory, Navy Blue, Olive, and Pink options.
The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite measures 41 x 35 x 10.9mm, and it weighs 35 grams with the strap attached to it. So it’s not heavy at all, quite the contrary. This could be a really nice option for someone who wants a more affordable watch. Xiaomi will hopefully announce its pricing in the near future.
