MIUI 12.5 Launches Alongside The Xiaomi Mi 11, And It's Better Than Ever

As most of you know, Xiaomi announced its Mi 11 flagship yesterday. Well, alongside it, the company also introduced a new version of MIUI, version 12.5. Do note that MIUI 12.5 does not come pre-installed on the Mi 11, though. Xiaomi has just released more information about the software, so let’s take a look at what’s new.

MIUI 12.5 significantly improves memory usage, background memory usage & more

The company claims that MIUI 12.5 is both faster, and “more economical”. The memory usage is reduced by 20-percent, while the background memory usage is also decreased by an average of 35-percent.

On top of that, the system application power consumption is decreased by an average of 25-percent as well. Those are some serious improvements, as these percentage points indicate considerable differences.

The AI aspect has also been improved. The MIUI AI motion algorithm motion is upgraded, the rendering power is much-improved. This version of the software also brings innovative dynamic visualization design to the table.

A new wallpaper has also been thrown into the mix, and it offers real-time rendering of light and shadow. On top of that, cloud changes are also thrown into the mix. This is one of Xiaomi’s live wallpapers, and it shows the main peak of Siguniang Mountain in Sichuan. Several other wallpapers have been added as well.

Touch feedback has been improved, and the same goes for privacy protection features

MIUI 12.5 also brings improvements to the natural touch feedback with improved vibrations. Better privacy protection has been introduced to the clipboard, while MIUI 12.5 enables the sandbox mechanism and isolates albums independently.

Browser privacy protection has been improved, and the same goes for the Xiaomi App Store as well. Now, MIUI 12.5 also brings collaboration between smartphones and laptops, so that you can view your notifications on your desktop PC.

On top of that, you can copy the text on your smartphone and paste it directly on your computer, open screenshots on your smartphone from your PC, and more. The integration has been improved in general.

Natural notification sounds have been introduced as well. They include four major habitats of the South American rainforest, Australia, East African grassland, and the Arctic Circle. There are over 120 sounds of global creatures included here.

This update will land on all phones that are running MIUI 12

This version of MIUI is coming to all devices that are running MIUI 12. Features may vary from one phone to the next, though. A beta update is already running in China, though this is an internal beta update. A public beta is coming in mid-January, though we don’t know when will the global version hit.

Public beta is coming to the following phones (in China): Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Redmi Note 9, Redmi K30, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 Ultra, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30S Extreme Edition, REdmi K30i 5G, Mi 10 Lite, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro, Xiaomi CC9 Pro, Xiaomi CC9e, Mi 9 SE, Mi 9, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 7, and the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

MIUI 12.5 stable update will arrive to the following devices at the end of April (in China): Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10.
