The world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera becomes available globally starting today. We are, of course, talking about the ZTE Axon 20 5G here. The company has reached out to share the availability news.
This handset was announced back in September, but users worldwide had to wait in order to get it. ZTE has announced that the phone is priced at €449/ £419/ $449, in case you were wondering.
Those of you who are interested can get the phone from the company’s official website. It is worth noting that the Black color variant will become available via invitation codes first, as its quantities are very limited.
ZTE announced that users can join the New Vision Club programme in order to be amongst the first to purchase the Axon 20 5G, and get a free pair of ZTE LiveBuds true wireless earphones.
The ZTE Axon 20 5G is the world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera
For those of you who missed the memo back in September, the ZTE Axon 20 5G is a mid-range smartphone. Its main selling point is its under-display camera, which means this phone doesn’t have a display camera hole, notch, or anything of the sort.
The device has really thin bezels, and a flat display. It features a 6.92-inch fullHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 765G 64-bit octa-core processor.
A 4,220mAh battery is included in this package, along with 30W fast wired charging. The phone does support 5G connectivity, as it comes with a 5G-capable processor.
This smartphone also includes four cameras on the back, and a single camera on the front. 64, 8, and two 2-megapixel units are placed on the back. A 32-megapixel camera sits under the phone’s display.
This phone also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, an optical one. Aside from the black model, ZTE also announced blue, purple, and gold variants. We’re not sure if all of them will be available globally, though.
