The DualSense controller for the PS5 is an excellent work of art that the engineers at Sony have bestowed upon gamers, but its lack of colorful options can make it look and feel somewhat bland at times. Not to mention dirty (that white really picks up on dirt and oils very easily).
But your controller can still be a part of this colorful world that we live in even if Sony isn’t providing you with the options. ColorWare, a company that specializes in giving all sorts of technology their own customized paint jobs, will sell you a colorful PS5 controller that is as colorful as you may have been hoping.
The controllers don’t come cheap though. So be prepared to pay up if you want something that has a little more flair.
Colorful PS5 controllers from ColorWare will run you at least $109
If you’re unfamiliar with ColorWare or what it offers, it sells customized versions of all kinds of tech. From current-gen console controllers to customized AirPods.
It sells skins too, although the skins are a lot more affordable than the actual ColorWare Limited series products. The ColorWare Limited PS5 DualSense controller will run you a starting price of $109. And the cost goes up from there depending on how much of the controller you customize.
You can colorize both the body and middle parts of the controller as well as the buttons and touch pad. You can even have a customized message or gamer tag engraved on the touchpad for an additional $20.
All told, coloring every section of the controller, regardless of the colors you choose, will run you $149 with the engraving and $129 without. Even the base price puts this option from ColorWare about $40 over the original price of the DualSense.
Controllers come fully functional and with a ColorWare warranty
Just to be clear, these aren’t customizations that ColorWare is making to your already owned DualSense controllers. These are fully functional new controllers that get the customizations you pick before they’re shipped out to you.
They come with a ColorWare warranty so they are covered on defects that may have been caused by the workmanship. The warranty also covers non-accidental hardware defects for a period of 12 months. Customers can even purchase an extended warranty that lasts for 24 months.
And when it comes to customization there’s a large color palette of options that includes matte, glossy, and metallic finishes. While expensive, this would allow you a legitimate way to get your hands on an all-black DualSense controller. Or something much more unique of your own creation.
Just know that it takes around 5 to 6 weeks for the controller to ship out after your order it.
