The Huawei Mate X2 has been postponed several times thus far, but it may launch in the near future, as its specifications just surfaced. The phone’s specs got shared by a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station.
Huawei Mate X2 specs reveal large displays, and extremely fast charging
He went to Weibo to share quite a few details regarding the upcoming phone. Based on this information, the Huawei Mate X2 will feature a rather large main display. It will be an 8.01-inch panel with 2480 x 2200 resolution.
The secondary display will also be quite large, we’re looking at a 6.45-inch 2700 x 1600 display. Chances are both of these will be OLED displays, though the source did not confirm that. We’re also expecting a high refresh rate on at least the main display.
The Kirin 9000 SoC will fuel this device, notes the source. That is to be expected as that is the latest and greatest chip Huawei released. Unfortunately, it may also be the last flagship-grade chip from the company due to the US ban. We’ll see, though.
A 4,400mAh battery has been mentioned, and the same goes for 66W fast wired charging. The phone’s wired charging will be blazing fast it seems, but wireless charging wasn’t mentioned. It is expected to be included, though.
Android 10 will come pre-installed on the device, but do note that Google Services will not be included. Instead of GMS, Huawei will ship its own HMS on this device.
The device will include five cameras overall
The source also shared some information regarding the cameras. This handset will include four cameras on the back, and one on the front. A 50-megapixel main camera will be backed by 16, 12, and 8-megapixel units.
We’re expecting one ultra-wide camera, and at least one telephoto one, though it’s possible two are telephoto units (16 and 8-megapixel ones). Alternatively, that 8-megapixel camera could be a monochrome or macro sensor, we’ll have to wait and see.
A 16-megapixel unit is tipped to be included on the front. The source also mentions 10x zoom capability, though this could be a hybrid zoom, not an optical one.
The phone’s dimensions and weight also got shared. The Huawei Mate X2 will measure 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2mm when unfolded. It will weigh 295 grams, if the provided information is to be believed.
We’re not sure when will the phone launch, but the original Mate X got announced in February. So, Huawei may be aiming to launch it next month, we’ll just have to wait and see.
