JBL has just announced a slew of new products at CES 2021, including the new JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam soundbar, which is a 3D surround sound soundbar that is actually cheaper than you might expect.
It’s the latest addition to the JBL Bar series. And it includes spacious 3D surround sound experience. It also includes virtual Dolby Atmos as well as JBL’s proprietary beamforming technology – Multibeam.
This is a very compact sound bar, with an all-in-one design that will fit in every living space. It’s essentially a competitor to the Sonos Beam, which is also the same price.
The JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam is equipped with four passive radiators for deep and punch bass. It also produces clear, heightened and room filling JBL 3D Surround Sound. All this without a subwoofer. It simply is not needed. The MultiBeam technology enables users to hear and feel surround sound without needing additional satellite speakers or a subwoofer. Which is really impressive.
When it comes to compatibility, the JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam does of course support all of the usual protocols you’d expect. This includes Alexa, Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Bluetooth. So no matter the platform, you can stream music to your new JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam with ease.
This might easily be the affordable soundbar of the year, though it is still pretty early, and some testing needs to be done. But this is a really impressive soundbar from JBL right now.
Pricing and Availability
According to Harman, the JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam will be available only in black, starting in the Spring of 2021. It’ll be available from JBL’s website as well as select retails.
And the JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam is going to cost you $399.95. Making it a very affordable way to get 3D surround sound in your home. All without spending a fortune on a soundbar for your home.
