A recent tip suggested that the OnePlus 9 series may ship with Leica lenses, but it seems to have been false. That tip was provided by Teme, a well-known tipster, but it just got denied by Max Jambor.
Max Jambor is usually the most reliable source when it comes to OnePlus information. He went to Twitter to deny such rumors, as he seems to know something others don’t.
The OnePlus 9 series won’t ship with Leica lenses
He did not say that it may not happen, he flat out said that the information is false. That doesn’t mean that it may not happen in the future, but Leica lenses won’t be included on the OnePlus 9 series.
Speaking of which, OnePlus is planning to announce three OnePlus 9 smartphones, the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and 9E. All three of those devices will land at the same time, probably in March.
OnePlus vowed to improve cameras on its upcoming smartphones, as it’s looking to be one of the best in that segment as well. A partnership with Leica would certainly help, but that’s not happening, at least not with the upcoming flagships.
The OnePlus 9E is also coming, but it’s quite a mystery at the moment
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro have leaked several times now, but the 9E is still a mystery. The OnePlus 9E model will likely be inferior to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, but we don’t know anything just yet.
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will resemble their predecessors to a degree. The OnePlus 9 is expected to be a little bit smaller, and inferior to the ‘Pro’ model, naturally.
The OnePlus 9 Pro will offer extremely fast wireless charging, it is tipped to offer 45W wireless charging. On top of that, you can expect 65W wired charging to be included with it. The regular OnePlus 9 model will also offer wireless charging, but probably a 30W variant.
More information will be revealed in the coming weeks / months, as there’s still time before OnePlus decides to pull the trigger and launch these devices.
