Samsung Galaxy M31 Starts Getting Android 11 With One UI 3.0

After serving Android 11 update to the premium flagship devices, Samsung has now turned its attention towards mid-range smartphones. Notably, Galaxy M31 is getting the Android 11 One UI 3.0 update.

Interestingly, Galaxy M31 is the first mid-range Samsung smartphone to get updated with Android 11 update. FYI, it was also the first mid-range Samsung smartphone to undergo the One UI 3.0 beta program.

The update is currently live for Galaxy M31 users in India. Samsung introduced the Galaxy M31 back in February 2020. It came with Android 10 out of the box.

This new Android 11 One UI 3.0 update will be the device’s first Android firmware update. Moreover, not only it brings all the latest goodies of Android 11 and One UI 3.0, but it also includes the latest January 2021 security patch.

Users of Galaxy M31 have reported about the reception of this latest update on Samsung’s official community forum.

Talk about One UI 3.0 features, it brings Quick Settings toggle, notification bubbles, redesigned volume controls, revamped home screen design, new icons, video enhancer, improved privacy and security controls, etc.

It also brings productivity, media and device control improvements, better AOD and calls background customizations, and more.

Galaxy M31 One UI 3.0 update arrives with firmware version M315FXXU2BUAC

Galaxy M31 users in India are receiving this update with firmware version M315FXXU2BUAC. It weighs around 407.62MB in size. We would advise the owners to download this update on a stable Wi-Fi connection.

One important thing to note about this Android 11 One UI 3.0 update for Galaxy M31 is that it does not include Samsung DeX (wired or wireless) feature. It should not be a surprise because the Samsung DeX feature is meant for flagships.

As per the screenshots of the update shared on the community forum, some of the apps are required to be updated separately after installing the One UI 3.0 update.

Samsung is seeding this One UI 3.0 update for Galaxy M31 users in India via OTA in batches. But we expect the update to start rolling out in more regions in the coming weeks.

Since the updates are arriving via OTA, it will not be straightaway available for all users. However, you can check for the update manually by heading over to Settings.

Then navigate to “System updates.” From there, tap the “Download and install” option. You can proceed with downloading and installation of the update if a new update is available.

Besides, if the update is not available, then you may need to wait for the rollout to expand for more users.
