Ulefone has just announced another new smartphone, the Armor Mini 2. First and foremost, it’s worth noting that the Ulefone Armor Mini 2 is a rugged phone. In addition to that, it’s also a feature phone.
The Ulefone Armor Mini 2 comes with a dedicated ‘SOS’ button
This handset comes with your regular T9 keyboard, plus some additional buttons, including the ‘SOS’ one. It has a single camera on the back, and even a spot on the bottom for a lanyard. Just in case you need to hook it up to something, like your backpack.
This phone is quite tough, needless to say. It is a rugged handset, which comes in Dark Gray and Camouflage color variants. It includes a 2.4-inch QVGA display, by the way.
The Armor 2 Mini is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. It can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes, says the company. The phone can also withstand falls, shocks, and bumps, says the company.
A 0.3-megapixel camera is placed on the back of the device, and that is the only camera on it. The MediaTek MT6261D SoC fuels this phone, while a 2,100mAh battery is included on the inside of the device.
That battery can provide you with 20 hours of talk time, and almost 19 days on standby time, claims Ulefone. On top of having an SOS key, this phone has a dedicated flashlight key as well.
It could be useful as a backup phone
Ulefone itself says that this device is suitable for kids and elders, as well as being a backup device. This may be a good thing to have if you’re going backpacking or something of the sort. It’s also a nice option for construction workers.
The Ulefone Armor Mini 2 is extremely affordable. The device is priced at only $49.99, though it seems like it isn’t available to purchase just yet. Knowing Ulefone, it will become available in the near future, though, so stay tuned.
