Western Digital announced at CES 2021 that it has upgraded its entire SSD lineup to sport up to 4TB of capacity.
Of course, for that kind of storage capacity out of a SSD, you’re definitely going to have to pay a pretty penny for it.
Starting off with the SanDisk SSDs, the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD is going to cost you $749 for 4TB of storage. It’s a NVMe SSD that features up to 2000MB/s read and up to 2000MB/s write speeds. This is an extreme SSD, since it is forged in an aluminum chassis that acts as a heatsink to give you sustained speeds.
Next up is the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD. This one is a bit cheaper, with 4TB of storage for $699. It is also an NVMe, with up to 1050MB/s read speed and up to 1000MB/s write speeds available. This one is also water and dust resistant, rated at IP55.
You can add 4TB of SSD storage to your gaming console too
Onto the Western Digital side of things, there is the WD_BLACK P50 Game Drive SSD, which is available for $749 with 4TB of storage. This is a purpose-built SSD for gamers. And it will deliver read speeds up to 2000MB/s. It works with PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Giving you plenty of more storage for your games.
Finally, we have the My Passport SSD from WD. This one will cost you $679 for the full 4TB of storage. It’s available in a bold metal design that is stylish and durable. It is available in gray, blue, red, gold and silver. Additionally, it is an NVMe that has read speeds of up to 1050MB/s and write speeds of up to 1000MB/s.
All of these will be out later this quarter at Western Digital’s website and at retailers that normally sell Western Digital and SanDisk products.
