The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been rumored to include an under-display camera for a while now. Not a single reliable source confirmed it, though, until now.
Samsung is looking to upgrade the Galaxy Z Fold 3 design with an under-display camera
A well-known tipster, Ice Universe, has said on Twitter that the phone is “very likely to adopt UPC” (UPC stands for Under Panel Camera). In other words, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will probably include an under-display camera.
If that ends up happening, it will certainly be a sight to behold. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 looks really nice and modern, but it has two display camera holes, one on each of its displays. That won’t be the case with its successor. Well, there’s a chance Samsung may include it on one of the phone’s displays, but we’ll see.
Overall, we’re expecting a rather similar design to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but without display camera holes (presumably), and with a different rear camera housing. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will probably adopt a look of its rear cameras from the Galaxy S21 series. If Samsung manages to make it happen, the hinge may prevent it.
The device may arrive in July, along with its Z Flip 3 sibling
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will likely arrive in July, if Ice Universe is to be believed. Earlier this month, he said that we may have to wait about 5 months for the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3.
Do note that the two phones may even arrive in August, it remains to be seen. Chances that they’ll launch after July or August are not high. We’re still not sure if Samsung will opt to launch them at the same time or not.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to replace the Galaxy Note series of devices. It is expected to include an S Pen stylus. The device will even have a dock for it, similar to the Galaxy Note devices.
Based on the vast majority of information that we’ve seen, the two Galaxy Note 20 smartphones were the last of its kind. Samsung still did not confirm that, but everything is pointing in that direction. Samsung is betting big on foldables.
